Rosh Hashanah: 4-10 – Daf Yomi One Week at a Time

This week we are going to learn the significance to the first of Nissan being the New Year for the Holidays. We will also learn about the concept of a time limit for vows that we make. We will see that the first of Tishrei is also seen an a New Year for dating animals and trees, and for counting the years, Shemita, and Yovel.

Dr. Tamara Spitz

Rabbanit Dr. Tamara Spitz delivers the “Daf Yomi: One Week at a Time” series at WebYeshiva.org . She is the Rosh Beit Midrash and a Mashgicha Ruchanit at Midreshet Torah v'Avodah. She lectures on various topics including Daf Yomi, Gemara, Halacha, and Tefilah. Dr. Spitz has held academic and administrative positions at various Midrashot and served as the Jewish Studies Principal of Instituto Yavne, one of the main Jewish day schools of Montevideo, Uruguay. She also runs a Chiropractic practice specializing in Women’s Health in Gush Etzion and is a Hip-Hop dance teacher.
