Dr. Talli Rosenbaum commented the other day that a good story was coming up on daf 62, Now, Talli, in her professional capacity, is a psychologist and her field of expertise is sexuality, so I knew it was possible that we were about to discover the very famous story of Rav Kahana hiding out under the marital bed of his teacher, Rav. It’s famous because of his stated defense for having invaded the couple’s privacy: This is Torah too. Indeed it is — and that’s Talli’s additional hat, as one of the hosts of the Intimate Judaism podcast, she – with her co-host, Rabbi Scott Kahn – are teaching exactly this aspect of Torah. If only Rav Kahane could have tuned in to them!
(that’s not all there is in this section of learning by following one’s behavioral model of conduct, but it’s the one people often remember vividly – for good reason)
