Sotah: 29-34 – Daf Yomi One Week at a Time

This week we will learn how many witnesses one needs to make the woman drink the bitter waters and how many can disqualify her from drinking the water.聽 The first Mishna in the 7th chapter enumerates things that can be said in any language and things that must be recited in Hebrew. The Sota ceremony must be done in a language that the woman understands and doesn鈥檛 need to be conducted in Hebrew.

Rabbanit Dr. Tamara Spitz delivers the 鈥淒af Yomi: One Week at a Time鈥 series at . She is the Rosh Beit Midrash and a Mashgicha Ruchanit at Midreshet Torah v'Avodah. She lectures on various topics including Daf Yomi, Gemara, Halacha, and Tefilah. Dr. Spitz has held academic and administrative positions at various Midrashot and served as the Jewish Studies Principal of Instituto Yavne, one of the main Jewish day schools of Montevideo, Uruguay. She also runs a Chiropractic practice specializing in Women鈥檚 Health in Gush Etzion and is a Hip-Hop dance teacher.
