Yoma 3: The Sequestering of the Kohen Gadol

The language of “take yourself,” for yourself, from that which is yours – in the kohen gadol’s contribution (or participation) to the offerings. God wants us to give from our own. Plus, taking from the wood that is the community’s or your own? (God seems to want our contributions when we’re in good graces, and otherwise, as in this case of building the ark for the Luchot, all credit goes to Moshe). Also, R. Yochanan and Resh Lakish on the kohen separating off for the parah adumah handling. The differences between the Yom Kippur sequestering vs. the parah adumah sequestering – which presents 2 completely different reads of the material.
